Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing won the 2013 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix, held at the Suzuka International Circuit. Vettel started from pole position and led every lap of the race, winning by a margin of 4.2 seconds over Lotus's Romain Grosjean.
Grosjean started from second on the grid and stayed close to Vettel in the early stages of the race. However, Vettel was able to pull away in the second half of the race and secure the victory. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso finished third, ahead of Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton and McLaren's Sergio Perez.
The race was marred by a number of incidents, including a first-lap collision between Nico Rosberg and Kimi Raikkonen. The incident caused Rosberg to retire from the race, while Raikkonen was able to continue but later retired with a mechanical issue.
The victory was Vettel's fourth of the season and extended his lead in the drivers' championship standings to 90 points. Alonso is now second in the standings, 52 points behind Vettel, while Hamilton is third, 55 points behind.
