Aryna Sabalenka Wins Mutua Madrid Open

Defeats Wang Qiang in Straight Sets

Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus defeated Wang Qiang of China in straight sets to win the Mutua Madrid Open on Sunday. Sabalenka, the world number one, won 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 28 minutes. This is Sabalenka's second title of the year, and her first since winning the Australian Open in January.

Sabalenka was in control throughout the match, breaking Wang's serve four times. Wang, the world number 20, had a chance to break back in the second set, but Sabalenka saved three break points in the sixth game to hold on to her lead. Sabalenka then broke Wang's serve again in the eighth game to clinch the victory.

"I'm really happy to win here in Madrid," Sabalenka said. "It's a great tournament, and I'm glad I was able to play well this week. I think I played really well today, and I'm just really happy to get the win."
