The Final Five USA Gymnastics squad dominated its competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics
The United States blew away the field to win Olympic gold in the women's gymnastics team competition on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at the Rio Olympic Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Americans, who were led by four-time gold medalist Simone Biles, finished with a total score of 184.897 points, well ahead of Russia's 176.688 points and China's 176.003 points.
Biles, who won the individual all-around title earlier in the week, was once again the star of the show, scoring a 15.966 on the vault, a 15.500 on the uneven bars, a 15.300 on the balance beam, and a 15.800 on the floor exercise.
The other members of the U.S. team were Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, Madison Kocian, and Laurie Hernandez. Douglas won the individual all-around title at the 2012 Olympics, while Raisman was a member of the gold-medal winning team in 2012 and 2016.
The victory was the fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal for the United States in the women's gymnastics team competition.
