Red Sox Prospect Cooper Adams Fans a Pair of Batters Over Three No-Hit Innings for High-A
The Boston Red Sox have signed free agent right-handed pitcher (RHP) Cooper Adams and assigned him to the Greenville Drive, their High-A affiliate. Adams, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound pitcher, boasts a mid-90s fastball that tops out at 97 mph. He also mixes in a slider and a sinker.
Adams, 22, was an undrafted free agent out of the University of South Carolina. He impressed the Red Sox with his performance in the Arizona Fall League, where he struck out 15 batters in 10.1 innings.
Adams could be a valuable addition to the Red Sox bullpen. He has a live arm and the potential to develop into a solid reliever.
