Hong Kong Welcomes Natural Panda Twins

Giant Pandas Give Birth To Twins At Hong Kong Theme Park!

Hong Kong Welcomes Natural Panda Twins

Hong Kong, AP | August 21, 2023

Hong Kong Disneyland has welcomed its first pair of naturally-conceived giant panda twins, the theme park announced Thursday. The twins' mother, Ying Ying, is now the oldest giant panda on record to give birth for the first time.

Ying Ying and her partner, Le Le, have been attempting to mate successfully for over a decade. The birth of their twins is a significant event for the conservation of giant pandas, which are an endangered species.

The twins were born on July 10th and are both healthy and active. They have been named Ying Bao and Le Bao, after their parents.

The birth of the twins is a major achievement for Ocean Park. The park has been working to breed giant pandas for over 20 years, and this is the first time a panda has given birth to twins at the park.

The twins are a welcome addition to the giant panda population. There are only about 1,800 giant pandas left in the wild, and every birth is important for the survival of the species.
