Aggressive Squirrel Interrupts Train Ride

Unruly Rodent Causes Delays

Commuters left stranded after squirrel attacks passenger

A train journey in Germany was brought to an abrupt halt recently due to an unexpected passenger, an aggressive squirrel. The incident occurred on a regional train traveling between the cities of Osnabrück and Münster.

According to Deutsche Bahn, the German railway operator, the squirrel boarded the train at Osnabrück station and initially appeared harmless. However, as the train departed, the squirrel became agitated and began attacking a passenger seated near a window.

The passenger, a 52-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries to her hand and arm. The train crew attempted to intervene but were unable to subdue the squirrel.

As a result of the attack, the train was forced to make an unscheduled stop at the next station. Police were called to assist in removing the squirrel, which had retreated under a seat.

The train was delayed for approximately 45 minutes while the incident was resolved. Deutsche Bahn apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers, emphasizing the safety of its customers and staff.

Spokesperson for Deutsche Bahn, Achim Stauß, stated, "We take the safety of our passengers very seriously. While incidents involving animals are rare, we have measures in place to deal with such situations effectively."

The aggressive squirrel was eventually captured and released back into the wild. The injured passenger received medical attention and was able to continue her journey on a replacement train.
