Giants keeping Josh Ezeudu, Evan Neal ready for anything on offensive line

**Von Jason Owens** **21. September 2023** **East Rutherford, N.J.** - There is no more versatile offensive line prospect in the country than Evan Neal. At 6-foot-7, 350 pounds, Neal can play all five positions on the offensive line - an important quality for a Giants squad still looking to fill question marks at both tackle and guard. Neal played mostly left tackle in college, but the Giants are giving him work at right tackle and both guard positions as well. **"We're trying to develop all of those guys to be versatile, to be able to function as swing players,"** coach Brian Daboll said. **"We're going to need a lot of depth there."** Neal, the No. 7 pick in the draft, will likely start at right tackle for the Giants, opposite Andrew Thomas. But with left guard Shane Lemieux coming off an injury and right guard Mark Glowinski in a contract year, the Giants need to be prepared for everything up front. **"We've got to be ready to go play,"** Daboll said. **"There's guys that are nicked up and things come up over the course of a season, whether it's an offensive line, a running back, a wide receiver, a tight end, whatever it is. We've got to make sure that we have enough guys prepared and ready to go."** Ezeudu, a fourth-round pick, is another versatile lineman who can play guard or tackle. He started 13 games at left guard in 2021 but also played right guard and right tackle. **"He's got a lot of versatility,"** Daboll said. **"He's a big body, he's athletic. He can move around and play different spots, so he's going to be a good piece for us."** The Giants have been shuffling their offensive line all preseason, trying to find the best five players to start. Neal and Thomas are the only two locks at this point. **"We're still looking for the five best guys,"** Daboll said. **"We've got some guys that are banged up, so we're just trying to figure out who can play where and who can help us win."** The Giants open the regular season on Sept. 11 against the Tennessee Titans.
